Rebecca Leeann Brooner

Rebecca L. Brooner, age 20, of Ponca City,OK, passed away Friday, September 7, 2018 in Stillwater, OK, due to a car accident. Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater, OK.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Carolyn Renfro Event Center, Auditorium, 445 Fairview, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater. Family will greet guest from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Rebecca was born June 25, 1998 in Ponca City, OK, to Richard and Cindy (Bartram) Brooner. She spent most of her childhood in Ponca City. She completed her last year of high school at Stillwater Public Schools.

She had many interests that included, reading books, animae, listening to music, enjoying animals, and spending time with her family, and many friends, and most recently learning to crochet. She was also very talented and creative with a pencil and sketch paper as she would draw and doodle. While in high school she was honored to be able to take a trip with her English class to London and Rome. Rebecca loved her two cats, Whinny and Lynn.

Those left behind to cherish her memories include her mother and step-father, Cindy Shewmake (Richard) of Ponca City, OK; one sister, Abigail Shewmake of the home; maternal grandparents, Billy and Linda Bartram of Stillwater, OK, and paternal grandmother, Ramona Brooner also of Stillwater, OK; three uncles, Kenny Bartram and his fiancé Kimberly of Slidell, LA, Randy Brooner of LaFayette, CO, and Robert Brooner of Stillwater, OK; one aunt, Diana Balzer and husband Doyle of Perry, OK; three close friends, Katie Fields, Victoria Ramirez, and Julia Hay; numerous cousins, and a host of other friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Richard Brooner in June of this year; paternal grandfather, A. Joe Brooner; great-grandparents, Charles and Mary Ellen Cooper.
