Albert Russell Linholm

Albert Russell Linholm, Jr. passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 83 years old. Russell was born in McPherson, Kansas on May 10, 1937. He was the son of Albert Russell Linholm, Sr. and Etta Mae Thomas-Linholm.
Russell joined the Naval Reserves in 1954 while still in high school and remained active until 1964. He graduated from high school in Perry, Oklahoma in 1955.
He attended Oklahoma City University and graduated with a degree in biology. After college, he worked at the Pasteur Medical Building in Oklahoma City.
Russell married Muriel “Louise” Linholm in Perry, OK on June 6, 1959. Their first child, Nick, was born in Oklahoma City. The family moved to Sherman, TX in 1964 where son, Mark, was born. Their marriage was one of many years and much love. While in Sherman, Russell worked for the VA hospital for four years.
Russell moved his family back to Oklahoma in 1968. He worked as a medical technologist at the VA hospital in Oklahoma City for 34 years until his retirement in 2002.
He and Louise were active long-term members of Village Christian Church in Oklahoma City. Russell earned his Eagle Scout in 1954. He later remained active with the BSA both as a Webelos leader and as commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, Last Frontier Council.
In 2016 Louise and Russell moved to Tulsa, OK but Oklahoma City was always home.
Russell enjoyed birding, photography and traveling with Louise. They were both dog lovers and had many dogs over the years.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Muriel Louise Linholm, who passed away on October 26, 2020. He is survived by children, Nick Linholm and wife Kristin of Edmond, OK., Mark Linholm and husband, Kenneth Joslin of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Audrey Smith and husband Michael of Alexandria, VA, Jenna Linholm, Jack Linholm and Josh Linholm, all of Edmond, OK; beloved cousins and many friends.
Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry. No services are planned at this time.
