Allen (Doc) Charles Henke

Allen Charles (Doc) Henke passed from this earthly life into his spiritual and heavenly home on Friday, May 26, 2017, at the age of 75. He was the third born to Rudolph Henke and Allie Mae Weber Henke in Guthrie, Oklahoma, on March 3, 1942. Doc was raised in Orlando, Oklahoma where he attended Orlando Public Schools; he was active in FFA and the Orlando Band. Doc married Dolores "Dee" Owens on September 1, 1961, and they were blessed with three children. Doc went to work in the oilfield at an early age; then following his families tradition he began farming/ranching in 1963. In 1963 he purchased his first crank style John Deere Tractor from Wayne Casteel for $50.00. By 1965 Doc upgraded his John Deere for a brand new Minneapolis Moline and a five bottom plow that still sits on the Henke farm today. Doc"s passion for farming/ranching continued throughout his entire life. Throughout his life, Doc custom combined wheat from Texas to Montana, owned and operated a large livestock and grain production, Veterinary Supply, and was a Commodities Futures Broker. Doc was a devoted member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma, where he served as Sunday School Superintendant and a school board member, for many years. Doc enjoyed participating in his children"s activities; working on 4-H projects, serving as the pit crew for his son"s motocross racing, and Vice-President of The Cherokee Strip Riding Club. In later years, Doc"s passion turned towards his grandchildren and their activities and sports; including football, tennis, cheerleading, softball, numerous graduation ceremonies, Marine Graduation at MCRD in San Diego, CA. and hiking to the summit of Oklahoma"s High Point at the Black Mesa State Park. He enjoyed his daily trips to the coffee shop and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. Doc was very proud of his paternal and maternal family history. He loved to share stories about their German farming expertise and immigration to America. One of his favorite stories was of his grandfather, Charles Weber, who staked his claim on land West of Orlando, Oklahoma, in the Cherokee Strip Land Run on September 16, 1893. Doc is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Allie Henke, one brother Carl Rudolph Henke, and one grandson Joshua Ryan Walls. He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Dee Henke of the home; daughter Angel Reese and husband Joey of Stillwater; daughter Allison Henke of Perry; son Jeff Henke of Perry; Five Grandchildren: Duane Reese, Lyndee Reese, Nickole Henke, Ally Reese, SGT. Tomas Henke. A sister, Alline Pfeiffer of Orlando; a sister-in-law Pauline Henke of Edmond; and four great-grandchildren: Kohl Witter, Sophie Reese, Ryan Walls, and Gracie Reese; numerous nieces and nephews.
