Amos Andrew “Andy” Decker passed away, Sunday August 28, 2022 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was 84. Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Andy was born May 14, 1938 in Hominy, Oklahoma to James Willard Decker and Nannie Josephine (Carver) Decker. Andy grew up in Hominy, Oklahoma and graduated from Hominy High School. After high school Andy worked as a butcher in local grocery stores. He eventually owned and operated a grocery store in Collinsville, OK. After retiring from the retail industry, Andy became a long-haul truck driver and worked for various trucking companies always looking forward to getting to travel. He loved seeing different parts of the US and meeting people from all over the nation. Andy retired from truck driving and became a pilot car driver for oversize loads. This presented him with a new challenge while still allowing him to see the country.

Andy had a passion for raising and showing dogs. He owned many German Shepherd show dogs that competed in dog shows all over the United States. Many of his dogs won awards across the US. One of his German Shepherds worked in the aftermath of the Murrah building bombing in Oklahoma City. After leaving the breeding and show circuit, he had many small dogs that meant a lot to him. In 1998 Andy moved to Stillwater to live with his daughter and granddaughter. Andy enjoyed working in the yard and took great pride in keeping it looking nice.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Andrea Kay Decker; one sister, Faye Barnard; three brothers, Wayne Decker, Wesley Decker, and James Decker; three nephews, Phillip Guy, Donald James Decker, Johnny Barnard

Survivors include his children, Melisa Kifer of Stillwater, OK, and Chris Bradshaw of Skiatook, OK; brother, Phillip Decker and wife Debbie of Skiatook, OK; sister-in-law, Bobbie Decker of Shawnee, OK; granddaughter, Mackenzie Sartin and husband Andrew Sartin of Stillwater, OK.

Andy asked that no memorial service be held. Contributions can be made to the Payne County Humane Society in the name of Andy Decker.
