Anna Jane Lesh

Anna Jane Lesh, 88, of Perry, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2014. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry and a service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Perry with Bro. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18 from 9:00am to 8:00pm with the family greeting friends at the funeral home from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday evening. Anna Jane was born on Oct 26, 1925 in Fairmont, OK to James and Mary (O"Donnell) Johnson. During grade school her family relocated to Sumner, where she graduated from high school. Anna Jane Lesh and Robert Lesh were married Feb. 26, 1944 in Laurel, MS, where Robert was stationed in the Army. Anna Jane returned to east Noble County where she spent her life raising their children and working alongside her husband on the farm. She grew almost all the food necessary to feed her family of five. Raising chickens and milking the cows. Anna was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. She took care of Robert for over 5 years before his passing in 1990. Following his death, Anna continued to operate her family farm and still made time to travel with her siblings to nearly all of the 50 United States and even overseas. She enjoyed reading, playing cards with her sister and friends, quilting, learning to line dance after she was 65, watching girls basketball and she was a HUGE fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, never missing a game. Her favorite activity was being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved attending their various events, cheering them on. Family was important to her and she insisted that the family gatherings be at her home even at age 88. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Perry and the Perry Senior Citizens. Anna was a generous and loving woman with a sweet spirit. She enjoyed making others smile and she always accomplished anything she set her mind to doing. She valued her independence, still driving and chose to live on her family farm until the day she passed. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring sister, a proud grandma, great grandma and hardworking friend who was always there when anyone needed her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Anna Jane Lesh was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lesh, a grandson Justin Hues, and her parents James and Mary Johnson. She is survived by her three children: Roberta Hazen and husband Danny, Connie Hues and husband Jim, and Gary Lesh and wife Jan. Three siblings: Tom Johnson, Evelyn Chesnutt, and Elaine Johnson. 8 grandchildren: Micky Montgomery, Tamitha Halko, Jason Lesh, Jared Lesh, Jamin Lesh, Joel Lesh, Jenna Lesh, and Jordan Lesh. 7 great grandchildren: Jacob Montgomery, Rebecca Montgomery, Carson Stokes, Gunnar Lesh, Cannon Lesh, Finley Halko and Brooks Halko. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Hartwig and the wonderful women of Perry Home Healthcare and the great care and compassion they showed to Anna Jane over the past few years. The family requests that donations be made in Anna Janes name to the Wheatheart Nutrition Project & the First Baptist Church-Perry.
