Betty Jean Anderson

Betty Jean Anderson passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was 89. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Betty was born September 24, 1934 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Cecil and Amer Irons. She work many years in the accounting business as a bookkeeper for several different companies. She retired as the bookkeeper for Smokaroma in Boley, Oklahoma at the young age of 65. Then she moved to Perkins, Oklahoma to be closer to family and would soon meet her sweet Howard.

Betty had a natural love for music. She enjoyed playing the fiddle at the Perkins Senior Citizens Center as well as other community gatherings. Betty loved her family dearly and enjoyed playing Farkle and Yahtzee with them. Her fur friends were a part of her family too. They were great companions to her, especially after Howard’s passing.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from noon until 8pm at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 2pm at the funeral home with Rev. Russ Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Jacob Robnett, Justin Boger, Jaden Bracken, and Tessa Robnett will serve as pallbearers.

Survivors include her daughter, Cecilia Ley and husband Larry of Stillwater; granddaughter, Tessa Robnett, and great-grandchildren, Jaden Bracken and Jacob Robnett all of Stillwater as well. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Howard Anderson.
