Betty Lee Edgar, 87 of Perry, Oklahoma was the daughter of Lee and Nelle (Sesline) Jerome of Perry. She was born on October 18, 1924 in Perry, Oklahoma and died of pneumonia on November 27, 2011 at the Perry Memorial Hospital. She graduated from Orlando High School and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Perry. She was an avid quilter and gave many beautiful quilts to her children and grandchildren. Betty retired from the Department of Transportation and worked at Tritan Insurance and Mid Continent Permanent. Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert J. "Bob" Edgar of Perry Green Valley Nursing Home; two children, Jacquetta Daniels Johnson and her husband, David of Cypress, Texas and a son, James "Jim" Robert Edgar and his wife Crystal of Perry, OK. She has four grandchildren, Christina Johnson Fulks and her husband, Russell of Hannover, Germany, David J. Johnson and his wife Betty of Frisco, Texas, Jason Edgar and his wife Amy of Inwood, West Virginia and Leslie Hagelberg of Tulsa and her husband Terry, currently serving with the National Guard in Afghanistan. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and her sister, Anna Mae Greene of Healdton, Oklahoma. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Perry and may be sent to the Perry Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir, Perry, OK 73077. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Presbyterian Church at 1408 N 7th St. in Perry, Oklahoma. The Reverend Rick Rhodes will be officiating. Burial will be in the Lawnview Cemetery, rural Orlando, OK. Friends may leave condolences for the family by using the online guestbook at www.perrycares.com . Services have been entrusted to the Perry Funeral Home.
