Bill Beindorf, 79, of Stillwater, passed from this life on Sunday, November 6, 2011. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and private family services will be held at a later date.

Bill Beindorf was born on June 3, 1932 in Dallas, TX to Clarence and Waneta Larner Beindorf. He was raised in Los Angeles, CA, eventually graduating from University High School. Bill attended Rutgers University and graduated with a degree in business. He served in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Captain as he flew the F86D. In 1956, Bill married Florence Woods in New Jersey. Bill and Florence were married for more than 50 years and had two beautiful daughters, Victoria and Theresa. After leaving the service, Beindorf joined the RKO station KHJ-TV sales department in Los Angeles in 1958. He then joined CBS Television Sales where he was a sales representative for WCBS-TV and CBS National Sales in New York until 1963. He became local Sales Manager for KOGO-TV, an ABC affiliate in San Diego through 1966.

In 1966-1975 he was appointed Vice President and General Sales Manager of WTCN-TV Minneapolis a Chris Craft/Metromedia owned station. Starting in 1975 through 1978 he was General Sales Manager of WXEX-TV (now WRIC) owned by Nationwide Insurance. Beindorf then moved from 1978-1980 to WISH-TV, a CBS affiliate as General Sales Manager. In 1980 he was appointed General Sales Manager of WVEC-TV owned by Corinthian Broadcasting Corporation through 1982. He was appointed Station Manager in July 1982 and in 1984 he became President and General Manager of the station now owned by A. H. BELO Corporation, an ABC affiliate through 1991. He was elected to the Virginia Association of Broadcasters and served on many boards while in that role.

Bill Beindorf is survived by his two daughters: Victoria Andrich and husband Gary, of Birmingham, AL and Theresa Jones and husband Rich, of Kansas City, KS. A brother: Ray Larner Beindorf and wife Patty, of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by four grandchildren and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bette Brannan, and his beloved wife Florence Woods Beindorf
