Bobby Leon Flowers a longtime Stillwater resident passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in Stillwater. He was 82. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Bobby was born September 3, 1939 in Glencoe, Oklahoma to John and Alma (Patterson) Flowers. He was the only sibling born on the Family farm out of 6 children. He grew up, attended school and graduated high school in 1958 all in Glencoe. He married Donna Haken in 1961. Two beautiful children, Cindy and Ricky were born to this union. After this union dissolved Bobby met and married Rhonda Samples on April 5, 1985 in Stillwater.
One of the greatest qualities Bobby had was his impeccable work ethic that started during his high school years while managing Knox Gas Station in Stillwater. He was very loyal to his employers. Devoting 58 years managing the Quapaw Company and as a Co-Owner of Kerns Ready Mix here in Stillwater until his health forced him into retirement. For pastime fun Bobby enjoyed evenings bowling with his wife Rhonda and spending quality with his buddies playing a round of golf.
Survivors include his wife of 37years, Rhonda; children, Cindy Baker and husband Jeff, and Ricky Flowers all of Glencoe; sister, Carol Jean Carpenter and husband Bud of Glencoe; 7 grandchildren, Jeffrey and Erin Baker, Jesse Baker, Jonathan Baker all of Glencoe, Jennifer and Anthony Ross of Chandler, Ashley and Daniel Griffin, Brittany Flowers, and Tyler and Tori Flowers all of Seiling; 10 great-grandchildren, Haley, Jaelin, Coy, Libby, Eli, Saige, Landon, Madden, Kensli, and Wade; one great-great-grandchild, Vera Kay; other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Dale Flowers; two sisters, Violet Madison, and Alta Porter.
Visitation will be 2PM to 6PM Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater. Funeral services are scheduled for 2PM Monday, May 23, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Glencoe with pastor Irvin Haken officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Baker, Coy Baker, Jonathan Baker, Tyler Flowers, Anthony Ross, and Rusty Wyckoff. Honorary pallbearers will be Jess Ross, Bill McGuinty, Darrell Heppel, Vic Kraybill, Jesse Baker and Leon Boyer. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Glencoe.
