Chester Orval Dry

Funeral services for Chester Orval Chet Dry, 86, of Perkins are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Friends Chapel Church with Pastor Merl Kinser officiating. Burial will follow in Clarkson Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Chet was born on August 1, 1922 in Mulhall, OK to Gilbert Walter and Sarah Elnora Ella (Harraman) Dry. He attended the Lone Star Community School. He married Patty Mae Pat Clark on December 31, 1950 at Vassar Church in Mulhall, OK. He operated a farm northwest of Coyle before moving west of Perkins in 1970. Chet worked for Payne County Dist. 3 as a grader operator for 50 years. His passion was raising Nubian and Alpine goats. He was a member of Coyle Assembly of God. He enjoyed gardening and going to church. Chet passed from this life and into the arms of his Father in Heaven on Friday, February 20, 2009 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Pat; one daughter, Donna Kay Dry; one brother, Walter Louis Dry; one sister, Geraldine Fern Higgins; and one nephew, Gary Wayne Silvers.
He is survived by one son, Larry Dry of Ripley; one daughter, Debra Ann Hatter and her husband, Sam of Coyle; two grandchildren, Amy Kinzie of Morrison and Deanna Dry of Perkins; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Telain, Toni, and Taleah Williams of Morrison; one sister, Mary Ellen Silvers and husband Bob of Stillwater; one sister in law, Betty Dry of Perkins; one brother in law, Bob Sublett of Stillwater; one aunt, Dollie Webber of Stillwater; two nephews, Dean Silvers and wife, Faye of Stillwater and Don Silvers and wife, Brenda of Ripley; two nieces, Carol Dry of Perkins and Donna McCarlson of Perkins; one great nephew, Colt Silvers and wife Sarah of Stillwater; and two great nieces, Bailey Silvers and Ria Silvers of Stillwater.
