A Memorial Service for Clyde A. Johnson, 80, of Stillwater, who passed from this life Tuesday, July 28th, 2009, at home surrounded by his family, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1st at Countryside Baptist Church in Stillwater. The Reverend James Bond will officiate. Services are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater OK.
Clyde Andrew Johnson was born April 3rd, 1929, on the Seminole family farm to Thomas D. and Wency V. Johnson. He attended schools in Seminole County graduating from Varnum High School in 1948.
Clyde worked for SunRay DX for 19 years before opening The Rib Ranch, the family restaurant, from 1973 to 1987. Due to his love for the oil and gas industry, Clyde returned to this line of work from 1987 until his retirement in 1992.
His hobbies included golf, bowling, boating, camping, and visiting but his most precious love was his wife of 63 years, Kathline. There wasnt a day that went by that he didnt tell her that he loved her and that she was his everything. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He considered his proudest accomplishment to be his family.
Clyde was preceded in death by numerous members in his family which include his mother and father, three brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Kathline Johnson of the home, two sons, David Johnson and his wife Wanda of Stillwater, Mike Johnson and his wife Leslie of Stillwater, and one daughter, Nancy Gary and her husband Steve of Burleson, Texas; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one that is on the way, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private family burial will occur at Sunset Memorial Garden in Stillwater. His nine grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Chad Johnson, Justin Johnson, KC Wood, Candice Johnson, Jeremy Burnett, Jessica Busby, Bradley Gary, and Tyler Gary will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Baptist Church, 2124 South Western, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74074 or a charity of your choice.
