Cora Peaches Violet Hansen

Cora Violet (Haley) Hansen, age 81 of Perry, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 3, at Green Valley Nursing Home. Lovingly known as "Peaches", Cora was born to Oscar Lee and Cora Anner (Vineyard) Haley on August 8, 1928 in Pawnee, Ok. She grew up and attended school in Morrison, OK. Cora was an employee of Mercury Marine for 25 years until her retirement. In Morrison, OK, on the 11th day of January, 1946, Cora married Herman Hansen. They established homes in and around Morrison and Perry where they raised their growing family. Cora loved to sew, crochet, babysit, and she loved to raise dogs. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Morrison. Cora will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5th, 2010, at the Sumner Cemetery with Chaplain Gene Owens and Bro. Albert Quick, officiating. Services have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Perry Funeral Home, 203 E. Fir, Perry,OK. Cora is survived by 3 sons: Don Hansen of Pawnee, Steven Hansen and his wife, Lisa of Coppell, TX, and John Hansen and his wife, Jessica of Weatherford, TX; 1 daughter: Janis Mayo of Perry; 2 sisters: Marjorie Jenkins of Oklahoma City and Nadine Shaw of Garber, OK; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Cora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herman Hansen, daughter, Lydia Webb, son, Timothy Hansen, great-grandson, Justin Corn, brother, Don Haley, and sisters Bea Collins , Connie Ragsdale and Leta Whomble.
