Dale Ernest Croston

Dale Ernest Croston, 47, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa from complications to colon surgery with his family and closest friends by his side.
Dale was born on October 26, 1965 in Oklahoma City to George Holland and Peggy Lawyer Croston. He graduated from Putnam City West High School and Oklahoma State University with a Business Degree. He begin playing the saxophone in sixth grade and was very active in his high school band programs as well as the Cowboy Marching Band and other band programs while at OSU. He joined the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi in 1985 and received many of the highest honors that the fraternity awards and was an inspiration to many of the members throughout the years. He was later made an honorary member of Tau Beta Sigma and was a proud member of both organizations. He continued to play as a member of the OSU Alumni Band as well as the Stillwater Community Band where he has served as their Treasurer for the last 8 years.
In September, 1994, Dale married the love of his life and college sweetheart, Lisa Macdonald and they have a twelve year old son, Jared. Dale served as the Pack 42 Den Leader for 5 years with his son, crossing seven boys over through the Arrow of Light. He was proudly serving on the Leadership Committee for Troop 20 and enjoyed camping and hiking with the boys. Dale was a second generation Eagle Scout and was so proud to be working with his son towards the same achievement.
Dale loved Stillwater and touched so many people through his work with Git-N-Gallup, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Stillwater on Ice. He served the National Headquarters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma part time for several years tending to the general upkeep of the Stillwater Station and in 2012 became the National Chapter and Colony Education Coordinator. Dale and his wife started Plan It Events in 2004 and helped coordinate several weddings in the community as well as being a talented Certified Balloon Artist designing custom balloon dcor for many OSU and community events.
Dale is preceded in death by his Father, George Holland Croston and his brother, Mark Holland Croston. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, and their son, Jared and his Mother, Peggy of Stillwater, his Brother, Scott Croston and his wife Barbara of Houston, TX, his Father-in-law, Ron Macdonald and his wife Sandy of Oklahoma City, OK and Mother-in-Law, Jodie Macdonald of Midwest City, OK, Sister-in-law, Kristi Dorsey and her husband, Tom of Choctaw, OK and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends especially his giant Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma Family across the country.
A Celebration of Dales life will be led by Paul Anderson, and reception will be held at Sunnybrook Church, 421 E. Richmond Road on Orange Friday at 3:00 pm, October 4, 2013. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: the Jared Croston Scholarship Fund at any Stillwater National bank, the Boys Scouts of America, the Kappa Kappa Psi, or Tau Beta Sigma National Headquarters Landscaping Project. Services will be coordinated by Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
