Dale Newton Reddout

February 8, 1929 — January 16, 2022

Dale Newton Reddout passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 in Stillwater, Oklahoma after a brief illness. He was 92.
Dale was born February, 8, 1929 in Ripley, Oklahoma to Fred Newton and Angeline Elizabeth (Matheson) Reddout. He graduated Ripley High School in 1948. He and the love of his life, Wilma Westfall were married on July 31, 1949 in Perkins, Oklahoma. In 1950 they moved to Kansas City, where he worked for the airline industry. Dale accepted a position with Phillips Petroleum Company in 1952, and on that very day received his draft notice. He served for 2 years. Upon arrival back in the United States, he and Wilma moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma to begin his career working for Phillips in Supply & Transportation and NGL until his retirement in 1986. In 2011, they moved to the Golden Oaks Retirement Community in Stillwater until his death.
Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and a love for flying. He earned his pilot’s license and became president of the Bartlesville Flying Club. He was very active with the National Bi-Plane Association and helped with the Annual Bartlesville Bi-Plane Fly-in.
His love of camping and fishing continued where he and Wilma spent many weeks every year at Grand Lake making countless new friends and hosting family. They traveled whenever possible. They enjoyed trips to North Carolina to visit their daughter, Carol and her family, going to southwest Oklahoma and helping out with ranching duties at daughter, Pam’s home. During summer evenings, he could be found at Doenges Stadium watching grandson, Chris play baseball for the Bartlesville Bruins and Doenges Ford Injuns.
Dale picked up a new hobby during retirement of doing jigsaw puzzles. He literally put together hundreds of puzzles and enjoyed family members coming over to help finish them.
He was so proud of being the first of 3 generations of Phillips employees. He told anyone that would listen that he, his son David, and grandson Chris all have or are working for the company. A rare event in today’s time.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Kenneth Reddout of Bartlesville, his sister, Irene Adkins, and sister, Pauline Kirby of Stillwater. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Wilma (Westfall) Reddout, daughter Pam Schug and husband Tim of Billings, Montana, son David Reddout and wife Linda of Bartlesville, daughter Carol Perry and husband Ron of Wendell, North Carolina, 7 grandchildren Melinda, Alex, Coy Dale, Chris, Melissa, Jenny, and Nick and 11 great grandkids Molly, Macy, Oakley, Mesa, Hazel, Cooper, Cole, Lauren, Paige, Olivia, and Clay.
No services are scheduled at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
