Debbie Lynn Slavens

December 14, 1956 — November 2, 2011

Debbie Lynn Slavens, 54, of Stillwater, passed on November 2, 2011. Services will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel (5106 N. Washington) with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery north of Ripley.
Debbie was born on December 14, 1956 to Lee Roy and Zella Simpson in Pawnee, Oklahoma. She grew up and was educated in the Stillwater area. On November 3, 1983 she married the love of her life Alvin Leon Slavens in Miami, OK. We can take comfort that she went to be with her husband in heaven just in time to celebrate their 28th anniversary. She worked as a personnel director with Grace Living Center. Debbie was well known for her love of family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed helping people and was Mama Debbie to all her friends children. She passed her spare time by playing the slot machines at the casino. A dedicated mother with a heart of gold, who will be missed by all those who knew her, but will live on through the legacy she leaves in five children.
Debbie leaves behind five children: Kari Harril and husband Edward of Yukon, Kristina Slavens of Stillwater, James Slavens and wife Rebecca of Yale, Shane Slavens of Yale, and Jonell Robins of Perry; mother Zella Simpson; six brothers and sisters: Randy Simpson, Robert Bob Simpson, Richard Simpson, Margie Robinson, Mary Jane Simpson, and Linda McCloskey Long; sister-in-law Patty Jacobs; twelve grandchildren Anthony, Shane Tyler, Brendi, Ashlynn, Cody, Sasha, Ashley, Frank, Kaylynn, Neveah, Camden, and Landon; one great grandchild; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Lee Roy Simpson, brother Ronnie Simpson, daughter Kimberly Slavens, and granddaughter Shaylynn Strom.
