Dennis Charles Smith

Dennis Charles Smith, age 51 of Yale, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his residence on April 8, 2022. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 9:00am-5:00pm and with family there from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 12, at 10:30am at Crossroad Community Church located in Jennings, Oklahoma with Pastor Mike Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Following the burial, lunch will be provided at the church.
Dennis was born on October 8, 1970, in Dallas, TX to Dennis Smith and Sharon Thorp. Dennis grew up in Valliant, OK and graduated high school in 1989. He went on to graduate Tulsa Welding School and was a welder and pipe fitter by trade for years. Dennis loved teaching other people how to weld also. Dennis married Linda Lewis in Blossom, TX on March 13, 2015. For 7 years they built a lifetime of memories.
After he was diagnosed with cancer, he started working as a hot shot driver with his wife Linda. They traveled all over the country and enjoyed every minute of it. Dennis was a Christian man and loved God. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything to do with outdoors.
Dennis is survived by his wife Linda, mother Sharon Thorp, children: Amber Smith and Colby, Summer Smith and Johnathon of Valliant, Hunter Smith and Abby of Okmulgee. His bonus children included Brad Haltom and Mandy of Cushing, Shannon Wade and Joe of Yale, Caleb Haltom and Jayci of Blossom, TX, and Cody Melton of Yale. Dennis will be fondly remembered by his thirteen grandchildren Sophia, Carson, Weston, Jayden, Johnathon, Kailynn, Christian, Trista, Alliason, Jaxon, Branch, Krystiona, and Lettie. Dennis is survived by his great grandchild, Mavrick. Dennis was loved by his siblings Saundra Rice and Greg of Valliant, Buzzy Grayson of Valliant, Lisa Vaughn of Ada, and Mishel Smith of Murfreesboro, TN.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene Thorp, and Irma Thorp.
Pall Bearers will be Marty Caudel, Roy Wolfe, Chayne Hutchinson, Brandon Glass, Brandon Jackson, Heath Jackson, and Donald Sword.
