Donald Lee Mcgehee

Donald L. McGehee, 85 of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed from this life on August 7th, 2013.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home and a service celebrating Dons life will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma with Rev. Randy G. McGehee officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home and the family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

Don was born February 4th, 1928 in Red rock, Oklahoma. He was the son of Johnnie L. McGehee and Margaret F. (Paxton) McGehee. He grew up on a farm 4 miles east and 2miles south of Red Rock. He attended grade school at Long Branch, southeast of Red Rock and graduated from Red Rock High School in 1946. After graduation, he moved to Stillwater and worked for the City Power Plant until 1954. He owned and operated Dons DX Service Station until 1959, then worked for Stillwater Supply Company and Bob Brown tire until 1977. He then went into the Home Construction business, retiring in 1997. He married Stella Imogene Mayfield on October 2nd, 1949 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. they were blessed with a son, Randy Gene and a daughter, Kimberlee Ann.
He was a man of his word and he loved visiting with family and friends or anyone that came along. His grandchildren were very important and he enjoyed keeping up with them and their activities. He was a long time member of Sunnybrook Christian Church.
Don was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, son Rev. Randy Gene McGehee and his wife Diane of Florence, Italy, daughter, Kimberlee Ann Driskel and husband Matthew of Stillwater, one sister Evelyn Smith and husband Charles of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Also survived by four grandchildren, Erin Katy Servos and husband Nathan of Rayton, Missouri, Calley Anne Herth and husband Dustin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Patrick ORyan McGehee and wife, megan of Garland, Texas and Britney Ranae Driskel of Stillwater. Two great-grandsons, Sebastian and Cameron Servos of Raytown, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
