Donna Cox

August 23, 1955 — February 26, 2022

Donna Ruth Cox was born in Youngstown, Ohio to the union of Earl and Irene Neff. She married Raphard Leon Cox in 1971, and despite that initial lack of judgment created a wonderful family, and just celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Donna was a light to all that knew her. In the mid-70’s she was a regular on the CB radio and all of the truckers nick-named her “Sunshine.” She always had a smile for everyone, and everyone said she gave the best hugs. Her love for Jesus was evident to anyone who met her, and she had a servant’s heart that was always pouring out to others. When her children were in school she was actively involved in the children’s and youth ministries. Later in life she joined a mission group at First Southern Del City who called themselves the Company Of Women (from Ps. 68:11). This group C.O.W.s (or heifers as referred to by Leon) traveled to New England to help strengthen women’s ministries at smaller churches. After being diagnosed with glioblastoma and no longer being able to drive, Donna created a ministry at home where she would send out cards to church members who were on the prayer list. She would often mail out 7-10 cards per day and named this “From the Couch Ministry.”

Donna retired from the State of Oklahoma where she had worked as an accountant. Donna had always been fiscally minded and could squeeze a dime out of a penny. This was a testament to all the years that Leon was in the military and she had to manage the budget for a family of five on one paycheck per month.

She passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. Donna had fought glioblastoma for almost 3 years, which is a huge testimony to her faith and close walk with Jesus. She knew that every day was a gift and a blessing and shared that view with all.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Neff, her mother, Irene Shaffer, her brother, Dave Neff, and a niece, Patricia Neff. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband, Leon Cox, her children: Diana and Alan Littlefield of Stillwater; Billy and Rocksand Cox of Altus; and Lee and Chasity Cox of Belton, TX; nine grandchildren: Johnathon Cox of Cuba, MO; Jesse Cox of Altus, OK; Allyson, Emma and Avery Littlefield of Stillwater; Jacob and Isabel Cox of Stillwater; Cadee and Levi Cox of Belton, TX; one great-grandchild: Aurora Cox of Scotia, CA; siblings: Pat and Roger Colter of Greenwood, IN; Stan and Deb Neff of Lancaster, SC; Gary Neff of Fort Worth, TX; Chris and Doyle Stephens of Frederick, CO; Irene and Earl Smith of Fort Collins, CO; Tanya and Jim Corbitt of Rolesville, NC; Linda Powell of Alliance, OH; siblings-in-law: Sheryl and Jimmy Motte of Johnson City, TN; and Tammy and Johnny Hanna of Greenwood, SC.
