Dorothy Curry

April 18, 1938 — January 28, 2017

Dorothy "Dotty" J. Curry, 78, of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Post Acute Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00am at the Victory Christian Center in Stillwater with Pastor Phyllis Brown, officiating.
Dotty was born on April 18, 1938 in Port Arthur, Texas to Johnie and Lila (Roman) Crowson. She married James Edward Curry on December 9, 1979 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated 38 years of marriage.
Dotty spent her early years as a nurturing mother and homemaker. She held various jobs after her children were grown, most notable at Helen Farabee Center in Graham, Texas, using her nurturing skills to help people with special needs. She enjoyed cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and OSU Cowboys. Dotty also enjoyed fishing, cooking for family events, gardening (particularly loved her roses), but most of all getting to spend time with her family. If you knew her, you would say that she had a great love of animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds and could not turn away any animal that showed up at her door.
Dotty is survived by her husband, James Curry of the home; three sons, Randy Seales and wife Paula, of Stillwater,OK, Johnny Seales and wife Susan, of Ponca City, OK, and Joel Seales of Stillwater; four grandchildren, Josh Taylor and wife Julie, of Charleston, SC, Trevor Seales and wife Jennifer, of Morris, MN, Taylor Seales and wife Bethany, of Stillwater, OK, and Alysa Seales of Westminster, CO; three great-grandchildren, Jake Seales, Heidi Seales, and Macy Seales; one brother, Ronnie Crowson and wife Fina, of Arlington, TX; one brother-in-law, Stanley Clark Curry of Billings, OK.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnie and Lila (Roman) Crowson; granddaughter, Jordan Seales; and one brother, Bobby Crowson.
Memorial donations can be made in honor of Dotty to the Stillwater Humane Society in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 North Washington, Stillwater, OK, 74075.
