Earlena Mae Pedigo

Earlena Mae (Mason) Pedigo, 83, of Stillwater passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Integris Baptist Medical Center. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater with Rev. Henry Siems and Rev. Larry Harlan officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater.
Earlena Mae Mason was born on February 7, 1931 in Newkirk, OK to Earl and Alice (Margerum) Mason. She grew up and attended school in Blackwell, OK. Following her schooling, Earlena married Joe Pedigo on September 19, 1947 in Winfield, KS. Joe and Earlena spent 53 years together before his passing in 2001 and to this union seven children were born.
The Pedigo family made their home in Blackwell, OK before moving to Edwardsville, IL, where they lived for many years. Earlena spent her life raising her wonderful children and serving her local church. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Blackwell before relocating to Stillwater, OK in 1987, following Joes retirement. Earlena taught Sunday school in Blackwell and in Illinois and she served as a greeter at the First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater for many years. Raising her seven children instilled a sense of patience in Earlena and she took great pride over the years in the number of families who trusted her to babysit for them. In her spare time she enjoyed writing letters and taking care of her cats, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earlena Pedigo was a loyal wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, a trusted sister, and a devoted servant who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Earlena was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe Pedigo, and son Richard Kevin Pedigo. She leaves behind six children: Linda Wente and husband John, Brenda Harlan and husband Larry, Carol Wright and husband Tony, Pam Shupe and husband Rodney, Peggy Bixler and husband Lloyd, and Joel Pedigo; four siblings: Don Mason of Enid, Bobby Mason of Hastings, Donna Keller of Yukon, and JoAnn Barrick of Amarillo, Texas; eleven grandchildren: Kara Stephens and husband Brian, Laura Harlan, Jeremy Wente and wife Kristy, Adam Wright, Ashley Gage and husband Ryan, Bryan Wright and wife Tabitha, Ty Stevens and wife JoAndrea, Jolena Newland, Melissa Roberts and husband JC, Andrea DaPron, and Rachel DaPron and Macey Webb ; and 17 great-grandchildren.
