November 23, 1938 — September 23, 2011

Elizabeth Dovie Jacobs, a longtime Perkins area resident, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the age of 72 years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Perkins. Private family services will be held at a later date.

The daughter of the late Jack Brantley and Shirley (Cox) Brantley, Elizabeth was born on November 23, 1938 in Howey In The Hills, Florida.

She was united in marriage to Floyd Jacobs in 1957 in Santa Maria, CA. The Jacobs moved to Oklahoma in 1976 and eventually to the Perkins area in 1990. While living in Oklahoma Elizabeth worked as a dietary technician for several nursing homes and eventually retired from the State of Oklahoma in 1984. Following her retirement, she enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, and knitting. Elizabeth also enjoyed volunteering for the Stillwater Habitat for Humanity and at the YMCA. Her family and friends will remember her as a very colorful person; who was a great cook, loved to garden, but most of all, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Floyd of the home; one son, Floyd Jacobs, Jr. and his wife Marion of Norman, OK; one daughter, Judy Berna and her husband Jackie of Perkins, OK; one brother, Richard Brantley and his wife Judy of Watsonville, CA; one sister, Pat Winfrey and her husband Dennis of Salinas, CA; two grandchildren, Amanda Berna and Mathew Berna; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by one sister Janet Rhody.
