Grady was born on September 12, 1992 to David Wayne and Cynthia Louise (Huckabay) McIntire in Tryon, OK. He grew up in the Tryon area and attended grade school in Carney before transferring to both Agra and Perkins for high school. Grady was a hard worker and began working with his dad on their farm and raising horses at the age of 15, a job he enjoyed until the time of his death. He also worked as a laborer for Tims Engine, a local oilfield maintenance company.
When Grady was not working he could be found working on his truck, hanging out with his friends or cousins, hunting, collecting and shooting guns, or participating rodeo activities. He enjoyed bowling and going to the lake, but was never happier than when he was mudding down the back roads of Lincoln County with his boys or spending time with his girlfriend, Kayci. He loved his parents and had a special relationship with them. Gradys best friend was his father, David. On his MySpace, Grady said I look up to my dad and hope that someday when Im a dad that Im just like him.
Grady McIntire was a good kid with a firm handshake. He was generous, easy going, and very funny. He loved to make others laugh and he had a smile that could brighten even the darkest day. He was kind and dependable and wouldnt hesitate to help a friend or stranger in need. He wasnt afraid to stick up for others and always had his friends and familys back. Most of all, Grady McIntire was a country boy who enjoyed the simplicity of country living. He was a loving son, a caring brother, a dedicated boyfriend, a dependable employee, and a loyal friend. Grady McIntire packed a lot of friendships, love and memories into his 19 years of life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through the lives of those he touched during his remarkable life.
Grady was preceded in death by his grandparents: Alma Eby, Otis Huckabay, and A.C. McIntire, as well as his uncle, Kenny Huckabay. He is survived by his parents, Cindy and David McIntire of Tryon. A sister, Danielle McIntire of Carney, three step brothers and sisters, his grandma, Betty Savory of Perkins, and his girlfriend Kayci Calavan of Perkins. He is also survived by his cousins Cody, Colton, and Hillary, as well as several other special cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
