Gregory Scott Pendleton

Gregory Scott Pendleton, 42, of Oklahoma City formerly of Stillwater, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 in Oklahoma City. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Victory Christian Center in Stillwater. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Scott was born on October 29, 1966 in Stillwater to Gene and Gail (Prickett) Pendleton. He grew up and attended schools in Stillwater and Perkins and graduated from Perkins High School. He married Connie Gentry, also of Perkins, on February 24, 1984 at the Cimarron Ballroom in Stillwater. He worked for the City of Stillwater Power Department for several years while he attended school at Oklahoma State University. He was self-employed in various aspects of business.
Scott loved his family, especially his wife and daughter, Amanda. He played softball in the Stillwater leagues. He and his family spent a lot of time at the lake where they enjoyed boating, swimming, and skiing. Scott loved to travel. He and Connie accompanied Amanda and her fiance Joshua to Hawaii in July of 2008 for their wedding. They had also recently traveled to China where they adopted a three year old boy, Benjamin. He and Connie were patrons of the Arts and supported several bands in the Oklahoma City area.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Don and Betty Prickett and paternal grandfather, Jack Pendleton.
Scott is survived by his wife, Connie; one daughter, Amanda Nicole Engle and husband, Joshua of Oklahoma City; one son, Benjamin Pendleton of Oklahoma City; his mother and step-father Gail Pendleton and James Craigo of Stillwater; his father and step-mother Gene and Mechelle Pendleton of Cushing; maternal grandmother, Marge Pendleton of Stillwater; two brothers, John Pendleton and his wife, Kari of Broken Arrow and Cory Pendleton of NSU in Tahlequah; two sisters, Jaqulyn Thurber and husband, Terry of Cushing and Melonie Pendleton of Cushing; one niece, Cheyanne; two nephews, Terrell and Anson; and numerous other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Scotts name on behalf of his family to the Victory Christian Center 3304 N. Perkins Rd. Stillwater, OK 74075.
