Ida Beatrice Cooks was born on April 17, 1937 to Future Lee Bolden Sr. and Kizia Tompkin (Bolden). She accepted Christ at an early age. Ida was a basketball player. She loved her church and had a great love for the Lord. She was known for her prayers. She attended school in Grayson, OK and attended Langston University were she met her husband. Ida was married on Jun 6, 1957 to Marvin Cooks Sr. The family resided in Wyoming for about 16 years then moving to Alexandria, VA and from there to Ohio for 15 years. Marvin and Ida made their home in Stillwater where they have resided for the past 20 years. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother. She loved to cook and garden. She loved fishing also. Ida loved to eat clay dirt. She was the church mother and the deaconess of the Greater Faith Baptist Church. She was a loving friend to all and loved being around her brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Eastern Star Amaranthus Chapter #95, a member of Lydia Circle of Guthrie, OK. Ida passed away on Sunday June 10, 2007 at her residence. She was 70 years of age. Ida is preceded in death by her late husband Marvin Cooks Sr., her father: Future Lee Bolden Sr., mother: Kizia Bolden (Tompkin), Brother: Langston Bolden, She is survived by 6 children: Marvin (Janice) Cooks Jr.-Cols, OH, Yolanda Cooks-Cols, OH, Elnetta L. (Jerome) Jones Cols, OH, Harriet (Curtis) Marshall- Cols, OH, Maurice Cooks- Broken Arrow, OK, Carrie (Darrell) Simpson-Justin, TX, 10 Grandchildren: Jessica Cooks, Ivorie Cooks, Chandra Cooks, Krista Turner, Kiarra Simpson, Alexandria Cooks, Danielle Jones, Stephanie Cooks, Darrell Simpson II, Ashleigh Jones, 2 Sisters and 6 Brothers: Edward (Jean) Bolden, Erma Eddington, Raymond (Wanda) Bolden, Clara (James) Jackson, Future Lee (Mattie), Charles Bolden Clarence (Daisy) Bolden, Elmer Bolden and several nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday June 16, 2007 at Sunnybrook Christian Church with Pastor Frankie Humphrey officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM at Grayson Cemetery, Grayson, Oklahoma Eastern Star service will be held 7:00 PM, Friday June 15, 2007 at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home Chapel.
