Imogene Mcgehee

Stella Imogene McGehee, 90, died August 19th, 2021, at her home. Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, OK. Pastor Randy McGehee will officiate. Interment will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater under the direction of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home.
She was born January 19, 1931, Southwest of Perkins, OK., in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of Orial C. Mayfield and Dora L. (McKinzie) Mayfield.
The family farmed in the area, and she attended rural schools. In 1943, they left the farm and moved to Tulsa, OK. In 1944, they moved to Stillwater. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1949.
On October 2nd, 1949, she married Donald L. McGehee in Guthrie, OK.
After graduation, she went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired in February of 1984. She worked in Stillwater all of her years with the company except for 1 ½ years which was in the Bartlesville business office.
She was a member of Sunnybrook Christian Church and Telephone Pioneers of America.
She enjoyed her family, and her grandchildren were very dear to her. Her hobbies were working in her yard, interior decorating and needle work of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, her parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Junior Lee, and one sister, Lavona, an infant brother, Wayne Curtis and an infant sister Peggy Lue.
She is survived by a son, Pastor Randy Gene McGehee and his wife Diane, missionaries for Assembly of God Ministries, a daughter, Kimberlee Ann Driskel and husband Matt of Stillwater; a brother, Gerald Mayfield and wife, Laveta of Stillwater, four grandchildren, Katy Servos and husband Nathan of Raytown, MO., Calley Anne McGehee Herth and husband Dustin of Frisco, TX., Patrick O’Ryan McGehee and wife Megan of Richardson, TX and Britney Renae Driskel of Stillwater, OK., 7 great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Cameron, Nataleigh, Scarlett, Hannah, Madison and Declan.
