James Franklin Brown

James Jack Franklin Brown was born on October 22nd, 1918 to Henry Frank and Gladys (Skinner) Brown in Pickton, Texas. He attended school in Texas and farmed during his youth. In 1942, he joined the United States Armed where he served as a Military Policeman. He continued with the Army until 1946. James was united in marriage to Eula Hux on June 20th, 1943 in Pickton, Texas. The couple had remained married for 63 years.
The couple moved to Stillwater in 1948. James was employed as a milk processor with Craft Dairy and the OSU Physical Plant. In his spare time, James enjoyed fishing and loved gardening. He enjoyed listening to music and enjoyed the Senior Citizens Center. He liked to eat dinner at project heart and loved watching any type of OSU athletic events. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. James was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Ingalls-Glencoe Masonic Lodge # 128. He was a member of the American Legion Stillwater Post # 129 and was a longtime member of the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church.
James passed away on November 6th, 2006 at the Stillwater Medical Center. He was 88 years old. He is survived by his wife, Eula, of the home; two daughters, Vickie Brake and husband Charles of Stillwater, Brenda Sanders and husband Wayne of Perkins; two sisters, Florence Wylie and Pauline Fontnilla of Texas; one brother, Ottis Brown and wife Bobbie Nell of Texas; five grandchildren, Jason Brake, Brain Sanders and wife Jodi, Justin Sanders and wife Kara, Travis Brake, Amanda Sanders; four great grandchildren, Clayton Peterson-Sanders, James Sanders, Kennedie Sanders, Jaylee Sanders; sister-in-law, Melba Battles; brother-in-law, Joe Hux and wife Kathy of Florida; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Barrett and an infant brother, G.A. Brown.
Services for James Jack Brown will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday November 9th, 2006 at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dale Doss will be officiating. Musical selections will be performed by Donnie Hoffman. Pallbearers will be members of the Ingalls-Glencoe Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be held at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 8th from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will be available to meet guests from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the arrangements.
