James Horton Ham

James Horton Ham passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 in Stillwater at the age of 63. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Marena Cemetery.
Jim was born on June 6, 1945 in Stillwater, OK to Lawrence and Martha (Horton) Ham. He grew up and attended schools in Stillwater, eventually graduating from Stillwater High School. He married Carlene Joann Snavely on September 20, 1963 in Stillwater. They had two children, Lisa Marie and James Colton Colt. Jim worked for Bob Bellati Rambler, Moore Business Forms, and Ted Sebring Ford in Crescent, OK but his real love was farming. Jim and Carlene moved to Irving, TX in 1990 where he worked for Square D Electric until 2005 when his health forced him to retire. Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed the sport of drag racing, shooting pool with his friends, and spending time with his grandson Jacob. Jim will be missed by all who knew him and will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Lee Ham.
Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carlene of Stillwater; one daughter, Lisa Reirdon of Irving, TX; one son, Colt Ham and Rhonda Masters of Irving, TX; two grandsons, Jacob Reirdon of Irving, TX and Garrett M. Christian of Stillwater. He is also survived by one sister, Margaret Ann Nickell and her husband, Jerry of Oklahoma City; one sister in law, Marilyn Ham of Evansville, IN; three nieces, Cindy Ferguson and her husband, Gary and family of Evansville, IN, Teri Ralph and her husband, Kenny and their family of Alabama, and Gaylene Ham and her son, Bradley of Evansville, IN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
