Janice Lynn Ritter

Janice Lynn Ritter, 72, passed away Monday, August 2, in Stillwater, OK. A graveside service will be Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The service will be officiated by Pastor Chad Pickens. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton- Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Janice owned and operated the Short-Stop on the westside of Stillwater for many years. She was voted Best Businesswoman of Payne County in 1996.

Janice was born to W.D. and Hester Mebane on February 24, 1949. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1967. She married Doyle Ritter on June 13, 1970. Janice leaves behind her husband Doyle, eldest son Tom Ritter (and spouse Jill), youngest son B.J. Ritter (and spouse Shawn), and granddaughter Lilly Ritter.

Janice was a phenomenal artist. She had the ability to paint any landscape or building simply by looking at a photograph. She was deeply spiritual and enjoyed reading. She also enjoyed taking care of animals on her farm.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Jerry Mebane (and spouse JoAnn).
