Jeff Allen Henke

May 29, 1966 — November 28, 2021

Jeffrey Allen Henke passed away on November 28, 2021 at the age of 55.
Visitation will be 1:00PM to 6:00PM Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Perry. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Monday, December 6, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry.
Jeff was born on May 29, 1966, to Allen “Doc” Charles Henke and Delores “Dee” Mae Henke in Perry, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of three, growing up with his two older sisters Angel Lynn Reese and Allison Jean Henke. He spent his youth growing up in Perry where he enjoyed motocross racing, harvesting with his dad, and causing chaos in general. He attended Christ Lutheran School from kindergarten to 6th grade. He later attended Perry High School graduating in 1984. His earlier years were spent working at J&J Oil Field, ODOT and Sewell Brothers Construction. In 1991, Jeff fulfilled his passion to fly when he acquired his commercial helicopter license from a private instructor in Texas. Then he returned to Oklahoma with his wife to start a family and help his dad at Henke Farms for the next ten years. In 2004, he received his instrument rating and began working as an air ambulance pilot where he enjoyed fourteen years of service as a first responder working for both, Eagle Med and Air Evac. Throughout Jeff’s flying career he also enjoyed farming, running cattle, dozer work and later aerial spraying.
Jeff was a jack of all trades, he always knew how to fix things and was eager to help. When he was a young farm boy his fondest memories were of harvesting with his dad from Texas to Canada. Later in his life he enjoyed hanging out with his two children, traveling, hunting with his buddies, driving Ole’ Rusty, passing his hard-earned wisdom to anyone who would lend an ear, flying with his son, mechanizing in his white barn that he built by himself, watching movies or the Discovery Channel, and trying to figure out how to purchase a sailboat and retire to a tropical island.
Brimming with wisdom, Jeff imparted two important rules to his children: Rule #1 Don’t do anything stupid. Rule #2 Don’t hang out with stupid people. He was known to shed a tear or two during sappy movies. His orneriness was always on full display, if there was a button, Jeff would push it. Legend has it that when Jeff was in high school he was well known for riding wheelies up and down Fir Street.
He is survived by his wife, Shana DeAwn Henke and two children, Pamala Nickole Henke and Tomas Allen Henke. Jeff will be missed my numerous family members, friends, and coworkers. He will be forever remembered by everyone he touched.
He is preceded in death by his father, Allen “Doc” Charles Henke and nephew, Joshua Ryan Walls.
