Jerry Earl Presley

October 1, 1942 — June 14, 2021

Jerry Earl Presley was born on October 1, 1942 to William Earl and Frances Virginia (Geddie) Presley, in Prague, OK. He passed from this earthly life into the sweet Loving Arms of Jesus Christ our Lord and reunited with his beautiful wife, Tommie Lorane (Davis), on Monday, June 14th, 2021, at the age of 78.

He was raised on a small farm in Stroud, OK and graduated from Stroud High School in 1960. Dad would always tell the kids how he got up very early in the morning to help feed the cows. Jerry's mom would fix a big breakfast and he continued with a big breakfast every day up until his last days. He had a very special bond with his Stroud Classmates and they got together often throughout the years. Something Jerry always treasured.

Jerry studied Accounting at Central State College (now UCO) and Oklahoma City University. Jerry served in the military from 1963 through 1969 in the Oklahoma National Guard in the medical/emergency field.

Jerry met the love of his life, Tommie Davis in Hennessey, OK. After a few months of courtship, they were married May 7, 1966. Together they raised 4 children: Darrin, Derek, Dena, and Dustin. After living in Oklahoma City, they moved to Perry, OK in 1972. He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Jerry and Tommie were married for 55 years.

The second love of Jerry's life were his grandkids. He and Tommie's favorite holiday was Christmas which they loved celebrating and giving gifts at their house. When he wasn’t working, he found time to play cards. Jerry and Tommie were known to have a get together on the weekends, playing cards late into the night. Jerry enjoyed watching and playing golf. "Jerry's my name, golf's my game!" said an embroidered sign that hung in their house.

Jerry was a hard working man who instilled hard working ethics in his children and reminded them "do your best in all that you do". His career began in banking ,but spent the majority of his working years managing different auto part stores in Perry, OK and Wichita, KS. Jerry and Tommie were able to work side-by-side for several years with Green Light Auto in Perry.

Jerry and Tommie lived in Perry until 1986, when they moved to Valley Center, KS. After Jerry retired in 2010, he and Tommie moved back to the Perry area, the town they considered home.

Dad was a very humble and private man with a huge heart. We are so grateful God gave him to us to be our earthly father. It has been an honor. He taught us to love the people that God places in your life.
