Memorial services for Jill Lavon Vick, 48, of Stillwater are scheduled for 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater. Services are under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater.
Jill was born September 11, 1961 in Oklahoma City, OK to Maxie Vick, Sr. and Lorene (Jenkins) Vick. She grew up and attended schools in the Stillwater/Perry area and graduated from Perry High School. During high school, she attended Indian Meridian Vo-Tech. After graduation, she attended O.T. Autry Technology Center in Enid, OK where she became certified in Culinary Arts. She worked at various places, include OSU. Jill was an ordained youth minister. She made it her lifes work mentoring and motivating the youth, and serving others. She was a wonderful mentor and motivator and would say Step out on faith to those she influenced. She loved the Lord and was a supporter of several organizations, including Feed the Children since the age of 17 as well as the 700 Club.
Jill was the biological mother to three children and worked hard to motivate them to pursue their dreams, and never give up. She was an adoptive mom to many, many more children. She was a good woman, a good friend, a perfect mother. She was multi-talented and extremely intelligent as well as very outspoken. Her hobbies included singing, cooking, drawing, painting, sewing, and shopping. She was very artistic and loved arts and crafts. Jill passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maxie Vick, Sr. ; sister, Rose Ann Vick; brother, Ronnie Vick; and niece Olivia Vick-Broadus.
She is survived by her mother, Lorene Vick; children, Patty Wells and husband, Drew of Lakewood, WA, Crystal Renee Vick of Raleigh, NC, and Elijah McLoren Vick of Raleigh, NC; two step-daughters, Misty and Donna Tyungu; five brothers, Maxie Vick, Jr., Lonnie Vick, Paul Vick, Corkey Vick, and Rickey Vick; four sisters, Connie Manuel, Debra Clark, Nettie Vick, and Theresa Collins; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
