Jimmie Lou Moore

January 21, 1945 — July 11, 2018

Jimmie Lou Moore, 73, went to the arms of his maker on Wednesday July 11, 2018, after a job well done and a long hard fight. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 7-8P.M. at the Morrison Christian Church in Morrison, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018, at 10:00a.m. at Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery.

Jim's most important role in life was to be a servant of God, a husband, a daddy, a papa and friend. Jim will also be remembered as everybody's finest neighbor and a real cowboys' cowboy. He was man of the greatest integrity and the kindest heart. He had a grin that never failed, a spirit tougher than leather and an unshakable faith. Jim was an inspiration to young cowboys always willing to lend a hand and guide them on how to swing a rope. He was an avid animal lover; a love he shared with his family.

Jim was born in Sedan, Kansas to Earl Edward Moore and Lela Margaret (Brunger) Moore on January 21, 1945. He was raised in Osage county with his brother, Gerald Lee, and sister, Ginger Sue. After attending elementary school in Boulanger, he graduated from high school in Bowring. Jim attended OSU Okmulgee to obtain his associate's degree in industrial electrical maintenance. While on summer break Jim met the love of his life Marsha Lynn Smith. They were married February 4, 1966.

Oklahoma State University brought Jim and Marsha to north central Oklahoma where they made their home in a nice country place just outside Morrison and had 2 daughters, Andrea Rene' and Jamie Michelle. After 13 years as an electrical foreman for OSU physical plant, Jim started working for OG&E Sooner Plant where he retired after 26 years of service.

Jim enjoyed breaking horses, team roping and fishing. He loved the Lord and his family but had an extra special place in his heart for his one and only granddaughter, Jaelyn Mae. After retirement Jim took up wood working making sheleighlies and benches in his spare time but even in the twilight of his life his most joyful moments were those spent with his girls and his dog Dally.
Jim is survived by his wife Marsha Moore, his daughters; Andrea Rene’ Sewell and Brent Wilson, Jamie Michelle Moore and one granddaughter Jaelyn Mae Sewell. He is also survived by his siblings, Gerald Moore and wife Margie and Ginger Sue Chinn as well as his uncles Earl “Chunker” Brunger and wife Brenda and Gary Brunger and wife Barbara; sister-in-laws Sheila Gann and Cindy Carson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Russell Moore and niece, Reta Moore, mother and father-in-law, Troy and Betty Smith, and brothers-in-law John Carson and Glenn Chinn.
