John Sanders

John Lee Sanders passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was 52. Cremation services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.

John was born March 3, 1970 in Dallas County, Texas. He was later adopted by Loyd and Marie (Keels) Sanders. He grew up in Mead, Oklahoma and graduated from Silo High School in 1988. Right after graduation John joined the United States Army where he honorably served 1988-1993. Through 1994-2002 he worked as a civilian contract employee at US Department of Veteran Affairs. In 2012-2016 he studied Mechanical Engineering and Geology. As well as Mineralogy/Petrology and Hydro-Geology at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.

Some of John’s hobbies include card/sleight of hand tricks, fishing, coin collecting, storytelling, basketball, comedy and creative writing. John loved people and making them laugh. He always fought for the underdog. It was his mission to make them feel important and loved. He will be greatly missed.

Those left behind to mourn his passing include his wife Sheryl Mack of the home; children, Shaele Sanders of Wichita, Texas, Harley Dumas and husband Jack of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jessika Sanders of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Braeden Mack of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Lynn Roy of North Carolina; grandchildren Zaylee Keynon, Berkely Caraway, Lincoln Ledezma, Layton Dumas, and Jentri Dumas; one very special cousin, Jaunell Walker of Fredrick, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents.

His family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday June 18th at 11:30 am at the Little White Church at CCC Lake.
