Juan John Nelson Romero, a longtime Red Rock area resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Oklahoma City at the age of 67 years.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, OK and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2011 in the Otoe-Missouria Cultural Building, Red Rock, OK. Burial will follow in the Red Rock Cemetery, Red Rock, OK.
The son of the late Maurilio Romero, Sr. and Effie (Carson) Romero, John was born on May 2, 1944 in Pawnee, OK. He went to school in Red Rock and later Haskell where he played basketball, football, and track. John then entered into the United States Navy and following his honorable discharge he returned to Oklahoma.
John was united in marriage to Susan Graham on April 4, 1977. In his spare time he loved spending time with his grandchildren, going to the casino, and watching old Frontier basketball games.
Survivors include his wife Susan of the home; three sons, Maurro Romero, Chris Graham, and Boydd Romero; three daughters, Jerri Romeo, Kim Deroin, and Stephanie Ruff; two brothers, Edward Carillio and Tony Romero; one sister, Cynthia Romero; grandchildren, Marlik Romero, Janice Romero, Alexis Romero, Kristan Romero, Erika Romero, Kaden Romero, Maria Hall, Terrence Hall, Danella Hall, Morgan Romero, Katlyn Ruff, and Kylee Ruff and one more on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurilio Sammy Romero and Jesus Romero and three sisters, Flora Cline, Francine Davis, and Mildred Baine.
