Laura Mae Hachtel

January 12, 1940 — May 17, 2006

Laura Mae Hachtel was born on January 12, 1940 to Irris Gates and Lura Vidal (Dennington) Redden in Beulah, Texas. She lived in Texas all of her life until moving to Perkins area in 1998. Laura married Leonard Craig Hachtel in Post, Texas in 1983. Laura was an accounting clerk, working for SMC until her illness in 2004. She liked gardening, canning and raising flowers. Laura enjoyed the grandchildren. She was a very hard worker. Laura loved to visit with her family. She was a caregiver and mothered everyone in the family and all her friends. Laura was a very loving individual and shared her love with everyone. Laura was very artistic and enjoyed painting. She also wrote short stories for the children. Laura passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Laura is survived by her husband Leonard Craig Hachtel of the home, mother Lura V. Redden, children Dorothy Mae Montgomery and husband Monty of Texas, Julie Ann Salazar of Richardson, Texas, Charlotte Darleen Hachtel of Sanger, Texas, Frankie Lynn Hachtel of Denton, Texas, sisters Sheila, Lena, Debra, Joyce, Betty and Sherry, brothers Manuel, Tim and Jim, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Services for Laura Mae Hachtel will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Gloria Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at their Private Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home.
