Leo Bennett Hogan

September 25, 1932 — August 25, 2006

Leo Bennett Hogan was born on September 25th, 1932 to Cecil and Ruth Evelyn (Hartgraves) Hogan in Finley, Oklahoma. Leo graduated high school from Antlers, Oklahoma and then furthered his education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He enlisted into the Army in 1954 and served two years as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.
Leo was united in marriage to Georgia Hatfield on August 18th, 1959 in Antlers, Oklahoma. He also accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior that same year. The family moved to New Mexico and lived there until returning to Stillwater, OK in 1977. Leo was employed by the Farmers Home Administration dealing with Community Programs until his retirement in the mid 1990s.
In his spare time, Leo enjoyed gardening. He would start planning what to plant as early as January and February and spent countless hours taking care of everything. When it was time to harvest the garden, there was always an abundance of what had been grown. Leo would always share this abundance with his neighbors and friends. Leo is remembered as being a kind and generous man. Leo also enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Leo went home to be with his Lord on August 25th, 2006 from his home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was 73 years of age. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Georgia, of the home; three children, Robin Hogan, Cindy Grooms and Cathy Hodson; eight grandchildren, Raven Rooney, Joseph Hogan, Michelle Suitt, Rachel Suitt, Bailey Grooms, David Hodson, Robert Hodson and Jessica Baumgarner; one great granddaughter, Phoenix Hogan; two siblings, Glenn Hurd and Patricia Jones; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
