Leonard Grimes

Leonard Grimes, a longtime Perkins area resident, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 in his home at the age of 60 years. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perkins and will be held at 10:00am Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Oak Park Retreat Center in Perkins, OK. Interment will follow at the Perkins Cemetery.
The son of the late John William Grimes and Letha (Reeves) Grimes, Leonard was born on October 11, 1950 in Stillwater, OK. Leonard attended and graduated from Tryon Public Schools. On December 21, 1968 in Cushing, OK he was united in marriage to Anita Tilley. They made their home in the Perkins area. For more than 25 years, Leonard was employed as a supervisor with Moore Business Forms in Stillwater until the company closed its doors in 2000. Leonard enjoyed farming and spending time with the joys of his life, his grandchildren. He was also an active member of the Liberty Free Methodist Church in Tryon, OK.
Leonard is survived by his wife Anita of the home. Two daughters: Angela Twoguns and husband Chris, of Perkins, OK and Lora Allender and husband Billy, of Perkins, OK; one son: Michael Grimes and wife Kay-Dee of Ripley, OK; three brothers: Jr. Grimes and wife Sandra, of Perkins, OK, Bill Grimes and wife Lynda, of Perkins, OK, and Eugene Grimes and wife Carolyn, of Ripley, OK; five sisters: Betty Savory, of Perkins, OK, Barbara Curtis of Perkins, OK, Wanda Rains and husband Frank, of Chandler, OK, Doris Howard of Agra, OK, and Evelyn Cassinger of Missouri; nine grandchildren: Ryan Grimes, Matthew Grimes, Ty Grimes, Triton Grimes, Joshua Twoguns, Houston Twoguns, Kaylyn Allender, Kaimon Allender, Kelsi Allender; one sister-in-law Cheryl Tilley; one brother-in-law Brad Westfall and wife Tina; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by three sisters: Myrtle Anderson, Glenda Mae Grimes and Juanita Marie Grimes and one brother: Harvey Emmons.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am- 8:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct 13 and from 9am-8pm Thursday, October 14 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home located at 304 N. Main, Perkins, OK.
