Opal Arlene Pritchett was born in Chandler, Oklahoma, on September 29, 1952 to William G. and Celia Mae Gaither Watts. She went to be with her Lord on January 25, 2021 peacefully, in her sleep, at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Opal grew up in Tryon, Oklahoma and attended C.E. Donart HS, graduating in 1970. She married Bill Pritchett on July 20, 1978 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born. Opal spent most of her professional life in the food service and restaurant industry, often in managerial roles. She worked at the Kettle, Braum’s and T.K.’s.
She enjoyed serving customers but loved serving her family more. She enjoyed grocery shopping, couponing, garage sales, quilting with her sisters, playing Bingo, and visiting the casinos, and anything else that involved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children David (Jeri Sue) Watts of Ripley, Billie Pritchett of Oklahoma City, and Zach (Sheila) Pritchett of Stroud.
She is also survived by her siblings Barbara (Pat) Gabrish, Patricia (Charles) Langley, Shirley (Alvin) Battles, Marilyn Gay, Carolyn Jardot, Rowena (Ronnie) Gottried, Randy Watts, and Edward (Rhonda) Watts. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Tyler Pritchett, Joshua (Abby) Pritchett, Dalton Watts, Trevor (Rikki) Watts, Keri Jo Watts, Summer Pritchett, Conner Pritchett, Braden Pritchett, Madison Williams, Carlee Jo Williams, E.J. (Krystal) Williams, Ashley Williams, Brittany (Chelsea) Hendrickson. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Ernie Williams, Jaxon Watts, Krew Watts, Riggins Watts, and Shawn Williams. Along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Pritchett, her parents William and Celia Watts, sisters, Sandra and Leola Faye and brother William Watts.
Tyler Pritchett, Conner Pritchett Trevor Watts, Dalton Watts, Braden Pritchett, and Ronnie Gottfried will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxon Watts, Krew Watts and Everette Palmer.
A public viewing will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday, January 28, at the Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Funeral services are planned for Friday, January 29, 2021 at 2 PM at the Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Joshua Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ripley.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Dighton Marler Funeral Home, 5106 North Washington, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74075. For those who wish to attend visitation or services, please follow CDC and Stillwater City ordinance regarding the use of masks and social distancing. For those unable to attend, funeral services will be streamed via Facebook Live on the Dighton Marler Facebook Page.
