Ordis C Higgs

Ordis C. Higgs, 90, passed into the arms of his Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2011 in Perkins. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater and will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in the Church of Christ of Perkins with Pastor Richard Poe presiding.
Ordis was born on December 20, 1921 in Abilene, Texas. He grew up in the area, where he met then married the love of his life, Elberta (Cline) Higgs, a union that lasted until her passing. The couple then made their home Louisville, Kentucky. After Louisville they lived in Arkansas for over 35 years, and after a short time in Louisiana moved to Stillwater in the early 90s. He worked as a vending operator for the State of Arkansas. Ordis devoted all of his spare time to the Church of Christ, serving as an elder and leading many projects. He was a member of the Perkins Church of Christ for nearly 20 years.
Ordis was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Elberta Higgs.
Ordis is survived by two sons: David Higgs and wife Shelia of Stillwater, and Bruce Higgs of Cumberland, Maryland, brother Elton Higgs and wife Lequita of Michigan, three grandchildren: Wesley Higgs and wife Pam of Tulsa, Chanda Becker and husband Robert of Oklahoma City, and Cheryl Bouts and husband Kyle of Sherwood, Arkansas, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, as well as many friends.
