Pauline Harmon

Pauline Harmon, 76, formerly of Cushing, OK, passed from this life on August 28, 2014 in Stillwater, OK, with her family at her side. She had been planning to attend a family reunion on September 6, but instead, she decided on a heavenly reunion.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. Funeral service will be held at The General Assembly and Church of the First Born in Perkins, OK, at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 2nd. Interment will follow at the Ingalls Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31st, from 1 pm to 6 pm with family present from 4 pm to 6 pm and Monday, September 1st, from 1 pm to 6 pm at Palmer Marler Funeral Home at 5106 N Washington, Stillwater, OK.
Pauline was born on May 4, 1938 in Enid, OK to Paul and Grace (Marshall) McCoy. As a child she attended Enid and Kingfisher schools, and later graduated from Agra High School.
As a teen, Pauline was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the First Born by Brother Bob Toland. Pauline would be best known to the Stillwater area as the owner of Pioneer Roll-A-Rama skating rink during the mid 1970s. In 1985 she and her husband, Clay, opened the Old Town Smokehouse in Cushing, OK, where she became famous for her BBQ Sauce.
She met and married Ray Gensman March 6, 1959 in Okmulgee, OK. Pauline and Ray had 3 sons together: Raymond, Brian and Robert. September 29, 1984 she married Clayton Harmon, and added 5 more children to her family.
Pauline was a fun-loving, opinionated woman, who could be best described as independent, generous and loving. She loved being involved with all functions of family and church. She was an active, matriarchal figure in the Church throughout her life. She was a gifted singer with an amazing voice, singing with the Sweet Adelines for over 30 years. The highlight of her career was performing at the Lord Albert Hall in London, England.
She is survived by her three sons, Raymond, Brian and Robert; one sister, Wanda Toland; one brother, Al McCoy; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of brethren, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Grace (Marshall) McCoy; two husbands, Raymond L. Gensman Jr. and Clayton Harmon; three brothers, Johnie, Carl, and Rick McCoy.
The family would like to acknowledge sister-in-law and best friend, Barbara McCoy, who was as close as a sister to Pauline. Because of her tireless dedication, Pauline was able to live independently until her demise.
Memorial Contributions can be made in her name to The American Legion.
