Raymond Leroy Bay

June 22, 1924 — May 26, 2016

Raymond LeRoy Bay passed away peacefully Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his home in Perry, OK surrounded by his family. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. Visitation will be 10am to 8pm on Friday, May 27, 2016 in the chapel at the funeral home. Family will receive guests from 5pm-7pm. Funeral services are scheduled for 3pm Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Perry with interment to follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Raymond was born June 22, 1924 in Perry, OK to Floyd Bay, Sr. and Minnie Faye (Goodwill) Bay. He grew up in Noble County where he attended and graduated from Sumner Schools in 1943. After graduation Raymond enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served his country faithfully for the next two years. Raymond and Lila Thompson were married May 11, 1949 in Perry, OK and have spent 67 wonderful years together. He was a member of the Perry Antique Tractor Club and the American Legion of Perry. Raymond owned a saw sharpening business in Perry where he worked until his retirement. Some of Raymond"s hobbies included fishing, gardening and restoring tractors, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Raymond is survived by his wife Lila of the home; one daughter, Delilah Rae Snyder and husband Gary of Perry, OK; two granddaughters, Casidy Raye Lee and husband Mike of Piedmont, OK, and Codi Rhea Denney of Perry, OK; five great-grandchildren, McKinley Lee, Lily Greenlee, Cash Welliver, Lila Johnson, and Sheriden Davis; and two sisters, Charlotte Rupp and Wanda Rink both of Perry, OK; He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd, Sr. and Minnie Faye Bay; three brothers; Floyd Bay, Jr., Laverne Bay, and Donald Bay; and one sister, Karen Keith. Family requests memorial donations to Ellis-Jirous American Legion Post of Perry in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home P.O. Box 189 Perry, OK 73077.
