Raymond Shinault

December 12, 1936 — August 6, 2021

Raymond Henry Shinault, Sr. was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on December 12, 1936 to Pearlie Brooks and Clarence Shinault, Sr. He married Dorothy Lee Brown and they were the parents of 4 children. Raymond attended school in Stillwater and graduated from Washington School High School in 1956. Raymond served a brief tour of duty in the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He worked as a factory worker. He was a 32nd Mason pride of Stillwater, OK and a member of the Washington School Reunion Committee. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. Raymond accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He remained an active participant in the church until he began to experience ill health. He loved to sing and was a very faithful singer in the Gospel and Brotherhood Choirs.

Raymond died on Friday, August 6, 2021 at his home following a lengthy illness at the age of 84. he was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Carl Gene Conner, Sr., Clarence Shinault, Jr., Willie C. Shinault and Charles Shinault; and two sisters Marylee Porter and Inez Smith.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memory; 1 daughter, Donna Onyejiaka, Stillwater, OK; 3 sons; Raymond (& Pam) Shinault, Tulsa, OK, Timothy Shinault, Enid, OK and Terry Shinault, Stillwater, OK; 1 foster daughter, Larcetta Murray, Oklahoma City, OK. One sister Margaret Conner-Boyd, Stillwater, OK and one brother Bonnie (& Mary) Shinault, Sr, Denver, CO. 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Carissa , Kristal , Kelsey, Tamara, Courtney, Myniesha, Ashley, LaQuitta and Jeramie; 8 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
