Richard F. Matzat

September 11, 1935 — July 20, 2020

Richard “Dick” Matzat passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater. He was 84. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 1PM at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater with Pastor Kyle Anderson officiating.

Dick was born September 11, 1935 in Chicago, IL, to Frederick and Mildred (Tidmarsh) Matzat.

He retired from PACTIV, formerly Kaiser Aluminum in Wanatah, IN.

In 1981, Dick married Bonnie Sallee, who also worked at PACTIV. They lived in Indiana and Florida before moving to Stillwater in 2005. Bonnie passed away in 2010.

Dick met Nila Belknap, while volunteering at the Stillwater Medical Center. They married in 2011 and lived at Primrose and Stillwater Christian Villa. Nila passed away in April 2020.
Dick was a member of United Methodist Men of Stillwater. He enjoyed watching Antique Road Show and wildlife, especially birds.

Dick is survived by many family members and friends who enjoyed his wit and dry sense of humor.
