Robert Rhea

June 16, 1960 — July 6, 2015

Robert Alan Rhea, 55, of Stillwater passed from this life on July 6, 2015. A service celebrating Robs life will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. A graveside service will follow at 4:00pm at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Vici.
Robert Alan Rhea was born on June 16, 1960 in Arcadia, CA to James Merrell Rhea and Bernadine (Starr) Rhea. He graduated from Columbine High School in Littleton, CO and made his home in the Denver area. Rob enrolled at the University of Colorado- Boulder where he earned his Bachelors of Communication Degree. Rob began a successful career as an outside sales representative for several packaging manufacturers and plastics companies. In 1985, Rob met the love of his life, Lynette Burton and in 1986 they were married in Mooreland, OK. In 1996, Rob and Lynette relocated to Stillwater, OK. Later that same year they welcomed the birth of their daughter, Jessica Rhea. Three years later, Rob and Lynette added a son, Jeffrey Rhea to their family. Rob spent the next decade working for Cope Plastics in Oklahoma City. While at Cope Plastics, Rob earned his Certified Mechanical Specialist or CMS certification, and he and his family were very proud of this achievement. Rob was most recently employed with Permabond Engineering Adhesives where he had been promoted to the Regional Sales Manager.
Rob was a witty man with a great sense of humor. His ability to think on his feet and his seemingly endless supply of quick comebacks made him fun to be around. He enjoyed being outdoors and he spent countless weekends fishing, camping, and boating with his family and friends. Music was Robs passion and he loved to play his guitar and sing his children to sleep when they were young. He was a longtime member of Lakeview Community Church in Stillwater where he often sang solos and served as the soundman for childrens church. Rob was the master of music trivia and his family knew that every road trip would be an opportunity for Rob to tirelessly quiz them on who sang each song that came on the radio, as well a chance to teach his kids how to count beats and learn rhythms.
He had a beautiful smile and he rarely missed the chance to make a friend laugh. Rob Rhea was a loving husband, a proud father, a caring son, a protective brother, a dedicated employee, and a loyal friend. He left an unmistakable mark on the lives of those he touched and his legacy of kindness and compassion will live on through the lives of those he leaves behind.
Rob was preceded in death by his father Jim Rhea. He is survived by his wife Lynette Rhea of Stillwater. Two children: Jessica and Jeffrey Rhea of Stillwater. Mother: Bernadine Bernie Rhea of Edmond. Two siblings: Kenneth Kenny Rhea of CA and Janice Jan Rhea of Edmond. Two nephews: Kevin Rhea of CA and Joe Irvin of TX.
