Ruth Marie Stewart

Ruth Marie Stewart, age 85, was born March 19, 1935 in Luther, Oklahoma, the daughter of Gabriel Alexander and Laura Hawkins Alexander.
She went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 10, 2020, in Oklahoma City. Services have been entrusted to Dighton Marler Funeral Home.
Ruth worked as a cook in a sorority at Oklahoma State University and at Cliff’s Diner. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She loved to watch her soap operas, Wheel of Fortune and visiting with family and friends on her telephone.
Ruth is the mother of six children: Rose Stewart, Stillwater; Reggie Alexander, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Lana Alexander, Calvin Alexander, Dennis Alexander and Ronald Alexander, all of Stillwater.
She is also survived by one brother Charles Alexander and his wife Jackie, Oklahoma City; nieces and their families; and her grandchildren: Davian Stewart, Britnee Alexander, Deondre Alexander, Ashlyn Crundall, Jalen Alexander, Ronald Marable, Chelsea Crundall, Martell Alexander, LaRonda Marable, Nathaniel Kauwe, Kia Celestine, Cindra Smith and Alex Hixon; and numerous great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
A public viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 19, at the Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel, 5106 North Washington, Stillwater, OK.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 at Mt. Zion Church. Rev. Calvin Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronald Marable, Martell Alexander, Nathan Kauwe, Deondre Alexander, Davian Stewart and Jalen Alexander.
