Shirley Dean Shank, 67, of Stillwater, passed from this life on Thursday, July 7, 2011. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Seth Mathis officiating. Shirley was born on May 30, 1944 to Charley and Edna Ledbetter in Stillwater. She grew up in the area, and on October 3, 1986 married the love of her life, Duane Shank. She was a sales clerk for Farm and Home in Stillwater for over 20 years and loved spending time chatting with her customers. In her spare time she enjoyed birdwatching, fishing, listening to music, and watching movies. She also enjoyed her time with family, especially her grandchildren and dog, Ginger. She liked to spend time at her lake house at Lake Eufala, and going to the casino. Shirley is survived by her husband Duane of the home; six sons, Mike Hancock and wife Traci of Medford, Tony Hancock and wife Tracy of Lake Eufala, Chris Hancock and wife Gayla of Ripley, Terry Shank and family of Salina, KS, Tracy Shank and family of Medicine Lodge, KS and Lee Shank and family of Salina, KS; two daughters Ralene Pauling and family of McKinney, TX, and Duana Shank and family of Salina; twin sister Dorothy Morris of Stillwater, sisters Margaret Knox of Perkins, Alma Barbaree of Summersville, SC, and Wilma Mayfield and husband Jim of Stillwater; twenty nine grandchildren and great grandchildren; beloved dog Ginger; and many other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Edna Ledbetter, and brothers Richard and Charles Ledbetter. Memorial Contributions may be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Stillwater.
