Shirley Jean Hall

March 6, 1947 — June 7, 2021

Shirley Jean Hall, 74 of Choctaw passed away 6/7/2021. She was born on 3-6-1947 in Perkins, Oklahoma to Joe Porter and Bertha (Davis) Porter. She attended Perkins schools and graduated from Perkins High School in 1965. While there she was elected Miss PHS and voted prettiest eyes by her classmates.

In 1965 she married the love of her life, James. In Perkins she worked for Ralph’s Packing Plant and later did bookkeeping at Blumer’s Service Station. She and James had two daughters, Cindy and Kristi. She was active with the school’s volunteer program and with the Tip In club. She also taught Sunday school for 12 years and was on the Pastor Parrish Committee at the Perkins First United Methodist Church. After moving to Choctaw in 1988, she began a career with C.R Anthony Company, working her way up to the corporate office. She retired from Mid Del Technology Center after working as an administrative secretary.

Shirley was artistic and enjoyed painting and drawing. She had a knack for design and organization and was known to offer to clean her friends’ houses on a whim. She enjoyed hosting family holidays and decorating for the season. She was a loving and nurturing mother, who never missed a school function, ballgame or performance. She and James were married for 56 wonderful years. The family would like to acknowledge and thank again the town of Perkins for building “The House that Love Built” for her Mother and siblings after her father Joe was struck and killed by lightning when she was just 2 years old.

She is survived by her husband James, of the home; daughters, Dr. Cindy Hall and husband Lamont Sitton of Meeker, OK, and Kristi Hall of Choctaw, OK; Grandsons, Aiden Hall of Choctaw, OK, and Colt Sitton of Meeker, OK; Sisters, Carole Goforth and Husband Jim of Perkins, OK, Mary Mellor and Husband Larry of West Jordan, UT, Theresa Martin of Tahlequah, OK, and Anita Miller of Cushing, OK; and brother, John Pricer of Perkins, OK.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Porter and Mother, Bertha Pricer; and brothers, Larry Joe Porter and JD Cooper.
