Stanley Lavern Klingaman

October 14, 1942 — November 7, 2020

Stanley (Stan) Lavern Klingaman, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many, passed away at the age of 78, surrounded by family on Saturday, November 7, 2020. He was born on October 14, 1942 in Mulhall, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Mildred (Ruck) Klingaman.
He grew up on the Klingaman family farm (referred to as the “Home Place/80”), Mulhall, Oklahoma and attended school in Orlando and Mulhall, Oklahoma. After high school, he married and started a family to include three children. He worked at Charles Machine Works/Ditch Witch, Perry for over 55 years. During his years of employment he was a supervisor over the Assembly Department. He retired in 2001 and returned to work at Ditch Witch a few years later as a part-time temp/trainer, Jet Track Department. He was a very dedicated employee, enjoyed the work he did and developed many friendships throughout his career, holding a special place in his heart for them. He loved the Perry Community and never met a stranger.
Stan also had a part-time personal business where he sold antique license plates, vintage vehicle owners’ manuals/advertising, die-cast merchandise, etc. He always looked forward to setting up a booth and seeing the friends he had met through the years at the annual shows where he sold this merchandise which included swap meets and car shows in Chickasha, Sapulpa, Tulsa, Oklahoma and also Wichita, Kansas. Stan liked Ford Mustangs and through the years owned a 1967 Mustang convertible, 1971 Mach 1 and a 2006 Shelby Mustang.
He enjoyed gardening to include planting beets, potatoes, watermelon, cucumbers and squash. Every summer, he would invite his family and also friends from Ditch Witch out for the “annual potato dig.” It was a time to enjoy a cookout, laughter and eventually get to digging the potatoes out of the garden, sending plenty home with everyone. He canned beets from his garden, entering a jar in the Noble County Fair each September and normally coming home with a blue, 1st Place ribbon. Other hobbies included: auctions, combining during harvest, fishing, and the annual trip to Eskimo Joe’s at Christmas where he purchased family and friends the yearly Eskimo Joe’s sweatshirt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and brother, Dean Klingaman.
Stan loved his family very much.
