A Celebration of Stanley"s life is scheduled for 10am Friday, August 12, 2016 at Sumner Baptist Church with Pastor Albert Quick officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Sumner Cemetery. Stanley was born November 8, 1949 in Fort Sill, OK to Leon and Ruby (Brown) Bloom. He grew up in the Agra/Ripley area and attended Ripley Public Schools. He graduated from there in 1966. After graduation he joined the Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War for three years to be honorably discharged in 1969. During that time he earned the National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. He completed his six years with the Army in the Reserves in Oklahoma City. After the Army, Stanley went to work for OSU as a Refuse Technician for 22 years. Although he retired due to health, it didn't dampen his love for OSU sports. It was actually in Stillwater where Stanley met the love of his life, Patricia James. They were married July 7, 1990 in the Mehan Church. Stanley was a devout Christian devoted to his Faith, so much so, that one of his passions in life was evangelizing to others about his love for Christ Jesus. His second but equal passion was his love for his wife, his three boys and his two girls. When not working, evangelizing or spending time with his family, you could find Stanley working with wood. Friends, neighbors and loved ones often referred to Stanley lovingly as a "Jack of all trades, and Master of none." Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Patti" Bloom; son Dewayne Bloom of Pryor, OK; son Steven Don Bloom and wife, Larissa of Cedar Edge, CO; son Bobby Eugene Bloom and wife, Tammy of Cushing, OK; daughter Robin Renee Bloom-Briggs of Pryor, OK; and daughter Brandy Kay (Bloom) Hise and husband, Jeremy of Enid, OK. Survivors also include his brother, Edward Bloom of Ft. Worth, TX; sister Wanda Webb of Stillwater, OK, sister Rita Henley also of Stillwater, OK, and sister Linda Fields and husband, Larry, of Perkins, OK. His grandchildren: Angel Ingraham; Savanna Bloom; Dominic Bloom; Justin Bloom; Chelsea Bloom; Kyler Bloom; Katy Petrescu; Cameron Bloom; Andrew Bloom; Kylee Eastman; Steven Don Bloom, Jr; Anthony Bloom; Logan Hise and Grace Hise. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and two nephews; Michael Melton and Bobby Webb. Memorial Contributions are being directed to the family to help pay for funeral costs. Donations can be made through Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home, PO Box 189, Perry, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.perrycares.com
