Velma Irene Bowker

April 27, 1930 — August 29, 2011

Velma Irene Bowker, 81, of Stillwater, passed from this life on Monday, August 29, 2011. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 31st at the Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland, OK.
Velma was born on April 27, 1930 to Clyde and Ella Mae (James) Colclazier in Cleveland, OK. Her education was with the Cleveland Oklahoma School System. Velma and Harold E. Wagnon were married September 5, 1947. Velma started her family, worked as a waitress in her mothers cafe and later began her career as a seamstress at Munsingwear in Hominy. Velmas love of animals led her to shelter dozens of animals throughout her lifetime.
Velma attended the First Assembly of God in Pawnee, OK and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hallett, OK. When she was not working, she enjoyed traveling, attending church, and spending time with her family and friends. Velma will be remembered as a kind woman who was generous to a fault. She was unselfish and always put others needs before her own. Velma chose to see the good in people, no matter the circumstances. She was a loving mother, a caring grandmother, and a loyal friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Velma is survived by her son, Gene Wagnon and wife Janie, of Bella Vista, AR., her daughter, Cherry Lunn, of Stillwater, OK, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Clyde Colclazier Jr., a son: David Charles Wagnon and a grandson: Jimmy Lucas.
A special thanks to Robin Jones for her love and care of Velma.
